Illuminating Change:
SolarAid & Kingsway Electrical Partnership: Joining Forces for a Brighter Future
SolarAid & Kingsway Electrical partnership, transforming lives in Africa.
About SolarAid
SolarAid is a beacon of hope for underserved communities by providing clean energy solutions that empower and uplift.
An international charity founded in 2006 to combat poverty and climate change, their mission is to light up every home, school and clinic in Africa by 2030, using safe, clean solar power.
590m people across sub-Saharan Africa lack access to electricity. When the sun goes down the working day ends for millions of people. For millions of others the only option is to ignite kerosene lamps and paraffin candles, which emit toxic fumes into the earth’s atmosphere. But with the flick of a switch, we can change that story. Every solar light in someone’s hand is an instant win for people and the planet.
SOLARAID & KINGSWAY ELECTRICAL PARTNERSHIP
Kingsway Electrical CEO Pete Docherty is not only committed to providing change to Kingsway Electrical staff and customers, but also on a wider scale. After searching for a charity that shares our values, SolarAid shone through. We will donate 1% of all solar sales, as well as annual team sponsorship events.
SolarAid’s impact so far…
- 3m lights distributed worldwide
- 4m people in sub-Saharan Africa reached by clean, safe, affordable light
- $290m saved by families a year
